Dr. Linnie S. Carter, APR, the president and CEO of Linnie Carter & Associates LLC and a community college vice president, presented (along with a community college president) at a national conference for community college fundraisers.
For the first presentation, “Organizing Community College Fundraising Teams to More Effectively Do More With Less,” Dr. Carter and her co-presenter discussed how to:
- Organize community college fundraising teams to more effectively do more with less
- Break down fundraising-related silos among campuses
- Engage executive-level community college leaders in fundraising activities
- Involve board members more fully in fundraising activities
- Streamline processes and procedures to free up time to raise more money
Dr. Carter and her co-presenter discussed “Determining the Philanthropic Motivations of Our Donors,” and taught the session attendees:
- How to determine why donors give
- How to determine what fundraising projects are of most interest
- How to develop demographic profiles
- How to learn how to more effectively communicate with, cultivate, solicit and recognize community college donors
