Internship season has commenced at Linnie Carter & Associates LLC (LCA) with the addition of its first intern. Laura Schultz, a junior at the University of Delaware, will complete her first assignments this month.
Schultz is a mass communication and political science double major, with minors in English and journalism. She is a member of her school’s chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) and is involved in various campus organizations as a social media manager, editor and public relations team member.
After researching a multitude of companies, Schultz decided to apply to LCA because of its unique compensation program and internship format. Because LCA enables her to work virtually from her location in Newark, Del., she can attend class and continue her education while gaining public relations experience.
“The internship was the perfect way for me to learn about the public relations field,” says Schultz. “LCA allows me to apply what I’m learning in school to real-world situations and projects.”
Schultz will work with LCA for three months and has already received plenty of projects to work on for the company. Through LCA’s unique program, Schultz and future interns will develop a strong understanding and skill set for a career in the public relations industry.
